On 25th November 2022 there is a school inset day, so all students will be at home. It would be amazing, if on this day, you could take your child to work. Of course, this is only if it is agreeable with your employer and you as a parent-carer were satisfied that all health and safety, risk assessment and insurance arrangements were in place.

We have online a ‘take your child to work day’ booklet which can be downloaded and printed or hard copies can be obtained from school. (link) The booklet helps students to explore a workplace, jobs and industry sector; it should be taken on the day and completed.

The completed and counter signed booklet should then be returned to school to Mrs Gilmore. We will of course certificate the experience your child has had and record it within their career’s portfolio experience file.

Workplace experiences are hugely beneficial to students, particularly when it comes to Year 11 and students are looking to write application letters that outline the skills, experiences and knowledge gained whilst at school.

This is a purely voluntary arrangement that we believe would be valuable to your child and we would encourage this to happen, if you are able to facilitate it.
