Students attended the University of Manchester as part of the Gateways Programme.

This scheme sets out to promote university to students who are academically able and have the potential to attend but their parents did not go to University.  Students have been part of the Programme since Year 7, attending virtually during lock down.

The students were a real credit to the Academy and shone all day.  They took part in lectures and master classes and their GREATNESS was recognised and celebrated by Manchester University.  Students were very complimentary about the day and feedback was how helpful and useful they have found the Gateway Programme above and beyond applying for university.  The students also enjoyed the lunch that was provided they found it much fancier than their usual school dinners!
