In Key Stage 3, students develop an understanding of many concepts and life skills including: determination, empathy, equality, failing well, growth mindset, patience, persistence and resilience. All of these life skills are underpinned by our GREAT values.
Key Stage 4
Students have the opportunity to gain qualifications in the following OCR vocational courses:
Health and Social Care
Students study the following topics:
● The different life stages and key milestones of growth and development for different age groups;
● Physical, intellectual, emotional and social development across the life stages;
● Physical, social, emotional and economic factors that can affect growth and development across the life stages;
● How growth and development are affected by physical, social, emotional and economic factors;
● Principles of care in health and social care settings, rights, values, communication and protecting users and providers.
Sports Studies
Students study the following topics:
● Contemporary Issues in Sport;
● Developing Sports Skills and Sports Leadership;
● Developing Knowledge and Skills in Outdoor Activities.
Sports Science
Students study the following topics:
● Reducing the Risk of Sports Injuries (Exam Unit)
● Applying Principles of Training
● The Bodies Response to Physical Activity
